Changing the world of sports - one woman at a time

The New York Times writes: "Sarah Thomas became the first woman to officiate an N.F.L. playoff game last weekend — making her one of a few women who have broken new ground in football.Wow."


Again, language plays a role. Sarah Thomas served as the "down judge", a title that was changed from “head linesman” in 2017 to be more gender neutral.


I am so impressed with the N.F.L women and I love what she said:


“The guys don’t think of me as a female; they see me as just another official.” — Sarah Thomas

I believe that the perception of others has to do a lot with how much at ease we ourselves are with what we do – what do you think?
